North Carolina Requests Tydings Waiver for 21st CCLC Grant Extension

North Carolina Seeks Extension for Education Funds Through Tydings Waiver

The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction has announced a significant step towards extending the availability of federal education funds. A Tydings Waiver is being submitted for funds from Fiscal Years (FY) 2021, 2022, and 2023, specifically for Title IV, Part B, of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA) 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) Grant.

This extension aims to prolong the use of FY 2021 funds until September 30, 2026, FY 2022 funds until September 30, 2027, and FY 2023 funds until September 30, 2028. By extending these deadlines, the state agency hopes to continue and expand upon the strategies outlined in the approved program plans at 21st CCLC sites.
