In a significant development for Delaware County, The Foundation for Delaware County has successfully reached a settlement with Prospect Medical Holdings. This agreement addresses various pending real estate and legal issues and was endorsed by Judge Stacy Jernigan during a bankruptcy proceeding in Dallas on August 20.
As part of this arrangement, The Foundation will finance the retrieval of medical records for former patients of Crozer Health Systems at no cost to them. The initiative aims to alleviate the burden on patients transitioning to new healthcare providers following the closure of Crozer’s facilities.
Frances M. Sheehan, the President of The Foundation for Delaware County, expressed the organization’s commitment to supporting the local community, stating: “We’re pleased to have the opportunity to assist Delaware County residents whose patient record fees may have been a stumbling block for their transition to new health systems with Crozer’s closure.”
Sheehan further elaborated on the Foundation’s goals: “Our community is facing significant challenges — and it needs a strong, focused Foundation. This agreement enables us to focus on our mission and serve the families of Delaware County. As the administrator of several maternal health programs — including three WIC clinics, the Nurse-Family Partnership, and Healthy Start home visiting programs — we work with many families in the neighborhoods surrounding these hospitals. We look forward to sharing exciting news about the future of these programs in the coming months. In the meantime, our Center for Nonprofit Excellence is expanding with new programs and services, and we’re already planning an even bigger Delco Gives for 2026. Stay tuned for the date!”
