Released: June 30, 2025

Community Support Shines at Delaware County Health and Job Fair

As Crozer Health facilities close, Delaware County steps up with essential services and job opportunities.

Delaware County, PA — Last week, Academy Park High in Sharon Hill became a hub of opportunity as Delaware County Council Vice Chair Richard Womack spearheaded a health and job fair attended by over a hundred locals alongside 30 community partners. The gathering offered health screenings, services, job prospects, and even immediate interviews.

Vice Chair Womack emphasized the county’s dedication to its residents, stating, “Even though Prospect Medical Holdings turned their backs on our community, Delaware County’s government never will. We’re at our best as a County workforce when we get out of our offices and into the community to bring services directly to folks where they’re needed. That’s exactly what this event was about.”

Jobseekers had the chance to engage with numerous potential employers through instant interviews and resume support, enhancing their employment opportunities.

Daniel Breaux, who attended the fair, remarked, “I feel like it was amazing. I got to meet great people, received great information, I was interviewed on the spot. I’m excited to hear back from the hiring manager.”

This event followed a successful gathering at Subaru Park in May, which attracted over 1,000 former Crozer employees. Beyond employment aid, the fair included free health checks, dental exams, and a wellness tent courtesy of Delaware County’s Health Department. Many community members affected by the Crozer-Chester Medical Center and Taylor Hospital closures received crucial information on accessing medical records and new primary care options.

Adam Birch from MVP Recovery expressed appreciation for the collaborative efforts, noting, “I am grateful to see different companies and entities make it easier to work all together. Crozer is gone and there’s over 10,000 mental health and addiction cases being without resources and now scrambling to find information.”

Kayla Taylor from MVP Recovery added, “It’s great for community members to see resources at their fingertips that they may have been unaware of, and that there is help in Delaware County.”

In attendance were staff from the offices of State Representative David M. Delloso and Senator Anthony Williams, reflecting the teamwork between local government and state officials in Harrisburg.

This initiative is part of an ongoing mission to deliver services closer to Delaware County residents, clarifying the assistance available from county officials.

Vice Chair Womack concluded, “My job as a public servant isn’t to sit back and wait to help people, it’s to listen and to push forward when our residents tell us what they need. That’s exactly what we did here on Friday, and what I’m going to keep doing every day that I’m blessed to be able to serve people.”
