In a testament to exemplary financial management, the North Carolina Pandemic Recovery Office (NCPRO) has garnered the Award of Excellence from the North Carolina Office of the State Auditor. As part of the Office of State Budget and Management (OSBM), NCPRO is responsible for overseeing federal pandemic recovery funds for the state. This accolade recognizes their fiscal year 2024 single audit of Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds.
According to NCPRO Director Tommy Clark, “This award is a testament to the dedication and professionalism of our staff. Managing billions in federal recovery funds is no small task, and our team has consistently risen to the challenge with integrity and precision.”
The Award of Excellence is a newly introduced honor that highlights state agencies exhibiting outstanding discipline, accuracy, and transparency in their financial reporting and federal compliance audits. Eligible recipients are required to submit timely financial statements that are free of audit findings or adjustments and comply with pertinent laws and regulations.
Kristin Walker, State Budget Director, expressed her appreciation, stating, “NCPRO has played a vital role in ensuring North Carolina’s pandemic recovery funds are managed responsibly and compliantly. To produce a single audit of such a complex and rigorous portfolio without a single finding or issue is worthy of this recognition, and I am grateful to our colleagues at the Office of State Auditor for recognizing this work.”
