N.C. DMV Reopens License Plate Agency in Catawba County on July 10

License Plate Agency to Reopen in Catawba County

Residents of Catawba County will soon have access to a new license plate agency (LPA) as the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles announces its reopening on July 10. The previous agency closed on October 10, 2023, following the expiration of the operator’s contract.

Melissa Henderson will manage the new office, which will be located at the former site at 803 Conover Blvd. W., in Conover. The agency will maintain regular business hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding state holidays.

In North Carolina, the NCDMV is responsible for overseeing these agencies, although they are typically run by private enterprises or local governments.

License plate agencies across the state, totaling 123, provide essential services including vehicle registration, processing title transactions, renewing license plates, issuing replacement tags, and offering services for handicap placards and duplicate registrations.

For convenience, property tax payments and registration renewals can also be processed online through the NCDMV’s website at ncdmv.gov.
