In a significant development for the judicial landscape, Governor Josh Stein has announced a new appointment to the District Court for Judicial District 5, covering Duplin, Jones, Onslow, and Sampson counties. This follows the retirement of the Honorable William B. “Billy” Sutton, Jr.
New Judicial Appointment
Johnathon Naylor has been appointed to fill the vacancy left by Judge Sutton. Naylor brings a wealth of experience from his role as an attorney at Castle, Peterson & Naylor, P.C., where he has worked since 2017. Additionally, he plays an active role in the legal community as the treasurer of the Onslow County Bar Association.
Educational and Professional Background
Naylor’s academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science from Campbell University, followed by a Juris Doctor from the Campbell University School of Law. His educational background and professional experience have prepared him for this significant responsibility.
