Governor Stein Advocates for Hurricane Recovery Efforts at National Meeting

In a significant effort to bridge bipartisan cooperation, Governor Josh Stein recently participated in the National Governors Association (NGA) meeting held at the White House. The gathering, which included leaders from both sides of the political spectrum, was a platform for addressing crucial state issues.

Governor Stein expressed his gratitude towards the NGA leadership, particularly highlighting the efforts of Governor Kevin Stitt of Oklahoma and Governor Wes Moore of Maryland. “I am grateful to NGA leaders Governor Kevin Stitt of Oklahoma and Governor Wes Moore of Maryland for their commitment to bringing leaders together across party lines to get real solutions for our people,” stated Stein.

The focus of Governor Stein’s advocacy centered on the recovery needs following Hurricane Helene, emphasizing the importance of ensuring sufficient support and resources for Western North Carolina. “It was important for me to advocate at the White House for our Hurricane Helene recovery needs because I will not miss a single opportunity to make sure western North Carolina has what it needs to thrive,” he noted.

Governor Stein also highlighted the positive reception from President Trump and his cabinet members regarding the recovery initiatives. He expressed optimism about future collaborations to address these critical needs effectively. “President Trump and his cabinet members were receptive, and I look forward to continuing to work with them to get it done,” he added.
