Exploring Culture and Mental Health: A Special Webinar for Hispanic Heritage Month

In recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) is organizing a unique webinar scheduled for Wednesday, October 1, 2025. This virtual event will delve into the intricate relationship between culture, identity, and mental health within Hispanic and Latino communities.

Leading the discussion, Kelly Crosbie, who serves as the Director of the NCDHHS Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Use Services, will join other prominent speakers. They will examine how cultural values and experiences influence mental well-being, discuss the barriers posed by stigma in seeking help, and highlight the significance of leveraging community strengths. Additionally, the session will provide insights into the mental health resources available across North Carolina.
