State of North Carolina Career Expo: A Gateway to Public Service Opportunities
North Carolina is set to host a significant employment event, offering residents a chance to connect with over 30 state agencies and universities. The fourth annual State of North Carolina Career Expo is slated for Monday, Aug. 31, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Sheraton Imperial RTP in Durham. Individuals of diverse educational backgrounds and experiences are encouraged to register for this complimentary occasion.
Governor Josh Stein emphasized the significance of the event, stating, “North Carolina has the best workforce in the nation, and the Career Expo will help connect them to opportunities to serve the people of our state.” He highlighted the enthusiasm of state agencies and universities to recruit individuals passionate about public service.
The expo will provide attendees with a platform to engage with 33 different state agencies and public universities through dedicated booths. Recruiters will be present to interact with potential job candidates, providing answers and guidance. Additionally, several agencies will conduct information sessions throughout the day.
State Human Resources Director Staci Meyer remarked on the event’s growth, noting its positive impact on job matching: “Year after year, this Career Expo grows in number of jobseekers and hiring agencies, resulting in successful job matches.” Meyer encourages anyone interested in serving the state to attend the 2026 Career Expo and explore the opportunities available.
