$1.5M Contract for Road Improvements in Franklin and Wake Counties

RALEIGH – Drivers in Franklin and Wake counties can look forward to improved road conditions thanks to a new initiative by the N.C. Department of Transportation. A significant contract valued at $1.5 million has been awarded to ST Wooten Corp. to enhance the quality of 42 sections of secondary roads within these counties.

The project encompasses a comprehensive overhaul involving milling, resurfacing, and shoulder reconstruction over a span of 11.8 miles of secondary roads. Franklin County will see improvements on over 10 miles of its roadways, while the remainder of the work will take place in Wake County.

The construction timeline is set to commence as soon as later this month, with an expected completion date in the fall of 2025.
