The development of a major infrastructure project is underway, aiming to enhance the energy transmission capabilities in the region. NV Energy is set to receive a 160-foot-wide permanent right-of-way (ROW) and a 300-foot-wide temporary construction ROW to facilitate the construction, operation, and maintenance of a 345-kilovolt (kV) transmission line. This line will connect to the anticipated Nighthawk substation and the proposed Greenlink West Project, encompassing essential access and maintenance roads.
Within the scope of this project, geotechnical exploration will be conducted, involving vertical exploratory borings within the permanent ROW. These evaluations are crucial to acquiring the physical data necessary for the final design of the project’s structures.
The public has a 30-day window to appeal, which spans from June 17, 2026, to July 17, 2026. Interested parties are encouraged to review the Final Environmental Assessment, Finding of No Significant Impact, and Decision Record. These documents are accessible at this link.
