Nevada Dems Lead Voter Registration Efforts Ahead of November Election

Nevada Sees Surge in Voter Registration with Democrats Leading the Charge

Nevada, known for its role as a pivotal swing state, is witnessing a significant increase in voter registrations, with more than 21,000 new voters added to the rolls. The Democratic Party is at the forefront, aiming to build a diverse coalition that includes Democrats, Nonpartisans, and some Republican voters, as they gear up for the upcoming November elections.

Efforts by NV Dems to Mobilize Voters Include:

  • A statewide Weekend of Action, which kick-started a coordinated campaign months before the election. This initiative involved organizers and volunteers canvassing neighborhoods, engaging directly with voters, and conducting essential outreach.
  • Collaboration with the Democratic National Committee (DNC) on the “When We Count” initiative, a significant investment aimed at registering and engaging voters statewide.
  • The opening of field offices across every congressional district in Nevada, serving as central hubs for organizing and launching canvasses.

Statement from Hilary Barrett, Executive Director of the Nevada State Democratic Party:

“I am encouraged that the new voter registration numbers reflect the momentum that Democrats are building, but we know there’s more work to do to reach a broad coalition of Nevadans ahead of November. Whether you’re a Democrat in Clark County or a nonpartisan in Elko, life is simply too expensive right now. Too many Nevadans can no longer afford to live through outrageous housing and health care costs, and skyrocketing grocery and gas prices under the Lombardo-Trump economy. NV Dems will continue doing the work to reach voters where they are and have important conversations about the issues directly impacting their everyday lives. In the months to come, I’m excited to continue the critical work of organizing and connecting with voters across Nevada.”
