Lombardo Faces Criticism for Boring Company Cover-Up and Safety Fines

Gas prices are up while the job market faces challenges, yet Joe Lombardo praises Donald Trump’s performance.

The NV Dems have reignited their “5 Days, 5 Ways Joe Lombardo is out of touch with Nevadans” series following Joe Lombardo’s controversial remarks and actions. Today, the spotlight is on his administration’s handling of a situation involving Elon Musk’s Boring Company, where two firefighters and as many as 20 workers sustained injuries yet faced little accountability.

Lombardo’s decision to dismiss $400,000 in safety fines against the Boring Company without the standard OSHA appeals process came into question after a high-ranking Musk executive made a swift call to his office. Lombardo attributed the firefighter injuries to their own actions, deflecting responsibility from his administration.

The Governor claimed that a supposed investigation into altered OSHA records was hindered by a cyberattack in August, despite the files being deleted in May. No other officials have endorsed this explanation, and previous attempts to clarify the situation have fallen short.

“Instead of holding the richest man in the world accountable for his company’s egregious safety violations, Joe Lombardo chose to blame the firefighters for their own injuries in these toxic sludge-filled tunnels and make excuses for the resulting cover up,” said Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Kate Sosland. “In Lombardo’s Nevada, billionaires will always come out on top.”
