BATTLE MOUNTAIN, Nev. – Public input is being sought by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) for a significant underground exploration initiative in the Crescent Valley basin that spans Lander and Eureka counties.
If the proposal moves forward, Barrick Gold U.S. Inc. is set to embark on a comprehensive project that would involve constructing and exploring twin underground declines, along with establishing surface support facilities. This extensive project is projected to unfold over a period of up to nine years, covering a 998-acre area.
Details about the project can be accessed on the BLM National NEPA Register, where interested individuals can submit their comments by selecting the “Participate Now” option. The deadline for public comments is set for June 5, 2026.
For inquiries and further information, individuals are encouraged to reach out to BLM Planning and Environmental Coordinator Jeff Kirkwood via email at BLM_NV_BMDO_P&[email protected] or by calling 775-635-4164.
