Significant Transmission Project Advances in Nevada
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has unveiled its final plans for a significant transmission line project in Nevada, aiming to enhance energy infrastructure in the region. The GridLiance West transmission project, spanning 155 miles across Clark and Nye counties, is set to upgrade the current single-circuit 230-kV system to a more robust double-circuit 230-kV or 500-kV system.
Once approved, GridLiance West, LLC, will be responsible for the construction, operation, maintenance, and eventual decommissioning of the upgraded power transmission line. This includes the development of new, expanded, or modified substations, switchyards, and access roads. The planned upgrades will stretch along the west side of the Spring Mountains, connecting areas from Las Vegas to Pahrump and Indian Springs.
For those seeking additional details, further information can be found on the BLM National NEPA Register. Additionally, instructions for lodging a protest are available on the BLM Filing a Plan Protest website.
