BLM Approves Fiber Optic Project to Connect Rural Elko County, Nevada

ELKO, Nev. – In a significant development for the connectivity of rural communities, the Bureau of Land Management has sanctioned the Region 3 Zito Fiber project. This ambitious fiber optic network aims to bring high-speed internet access to various underserved areas in Elko County, Nevada.

The approved project involves the installation of 237.4 miles of fiber optic cable, both underground and overhead. This network will extend telecommunication services from Wells to Ruby Valley, Elko to Owyhee, Elko to North Fork, and Elko to Jiggs, among other rural locations throughout Elko County.
