Assemblymembers Demand Investigation into Erased Safety Violation Records

In a surprising turn of events, Nevada’s political landscape is heating up as two State Assemblymembers have demanded an investigation into potential misconduct involving Governor Joe Lombardo’s administration and Elon Musk’s Boring Company. Allegations have surfaced regarding the erasure of public records related to safety violations, prompting scrutiny from multiple parties.

The controversy stems from what some see as preferential treatment given to Musk. Assemblymembers Cinthia Moore and Venise Karris are urging the Clark County District Attorney to probe into the situation. Moore criticized Lombardo in an interview with KLAS, accusing him of favoring “the richest man in the world” and shifting the blame onto firefighters who suffered injuries.

Events escalated quickly after a top executive from Musk’s team reportedly made contact with Lombardo’s office. This resulted in the abrupt dismissal of substantial safety fines without adhering to the usual Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) appeal procedures.

Efforts to conceal this unexpected resolution have been alleged, with accusations that records documenting the fines and subsequent meetings between the Governor’s office and Boring Company executives were deleted. No official explanation has been provided for the withdrawal of the citations.

Amid these developments, federal authorities have now launched their own inquiry into the matter. The investigation aims to address Lombardo’s non-response to significant safety concerns, including incidents of chemical burns, broken bones, and electric shocks.
