Community Event Aims to Empower Families in Barry and Eaton Counties

The Barry-Eaton District Health Department, in a collaborative effort with local partners, is excited to introduce the first-ever “Growing a Village: An Event to Support Our Families.” Scheduled for Tuesday, August 4, from 4-7 PM, this event will take place at the Nashville Community Garden and aims to bolster community ties by providing valuable resources to young families.
Attendees will have the opportunity to access a range of support services catering to parents and caregivers. These include breastfeeding support, nutrition guidance, child safety information, and various caregiver resources. Guests can enjoy food from Maria’s Tacos food truck, with Lemony Lane offering complimentary lemonade while supplies last, as well as additional lemonade for purchase. The Nashville Fire Department will also be present with a fire truck for a “Touch-a-Truck” activity.
The event promises an enjoyable evening with live music, free snacks, and guided tours of the garden, alongside numerous activities suitable for all ages.
