The City of Flint has wrapped up its Summer Youth Employment Program with an innovative “Level Up for Success” Youth Professional Development Bootcamp. This immersive event aimed to equip young participants with essential skills for thriving in the workplace, celebrating their summer achievements and setting them up for future educational or career endeavors.
The bootcamp served as a capstone for the students involved, focusing on enhancing crucial professional skills such as communication, leadership, and personal accountability. Instead of relying on lectures, the program emphasized interactive activities that fostered collaboration and self-improvement among participants.
Throughout the day, attendees engaged in various hands-on sessions designed to boost business communication capabilities, harness their personal strengths, and employ vision boarding techniques to clearly define their goals. These sessions were complemented by team-building exercises and networking opportunities that encouraged students to form valuable connections and build the confidence needed for future success.
“Our Summer Youth Employment Program is about much more than providing a paycheck; it is about preparing the next generation of leaders,” said Mayor Sheldon A.
