The Brain’s Role in Reading

Reading involves more than just decoding letters; it encompasses a child’s brain development, emotional well-being, stress management, and experiences.

Learning about brain development provides parents and caregivers with a fresh perspective on children’s learning and behavioral patterns.

Behavioral challenges may often indicate underlying learning experiences or needs.

Insights for Parents

This workshop targets parents of children from birth to age 5, offering practical insights into early brain development applicable at home.

In this workshop, participants will delve into:

  • The significance of the first five years in brain and emotional development.
  • The impact of screen time on development and guidance on setting age-appropriate limits.
  • How engaging in reading and conversation enhances language and brain growth.
  • Everyday strategies for fostering learning and resilience.

No prior knowledge of education or neuroscience is necessary. This workshop aims to clarify the “why” and “how” of children’s behaviors and developmental support choices.

Building Brains Through Daily Interactions

Promoting early literacy does not necessitate structured lessons at home.

Conversations, storytelling with varied expressions, singing, playing, and discussing feelings are simple activities that contribute to language and emotional development.

Your daily interactions play a vital role in your child’s brain growth.

The workshop will help families recognize what occurs during these moments and how small actions can substantially benefit their children’s growth.

Who Can Benefit?

This event is specifically crafted for parents and caregivers of children aged 0–5.

It’s ideal for those interested in understanding children’s learning processes, behavior, screen time implications, and strategies for nurturing reading skills and resilience.

FREE Dinner & Child Care

Participation is made convenient for families.

Dinner and child care for children aged 8 and under are available.

Attendees will also receive a children’s book to extend learning beyond the workshop.
