Flint’s Beach Street to Close Temporarily for Utility Work
In a significant move to upgrade its infrastructure, Flint has announced the complete closure of Beach Street, stretching from W. 4th Street to W. Court Street. This closure will commence today, Monday, September 22, and is expected to last until Friday, October 31, 2025. The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the city’s electrical utilities.
Motor City Electric Utilities, operating on behalf of Consumers Energy, will oversee the utility work. The project necessitates a full street closure, ensuring no through traffic can pass during the period. Residents, commuters, and local businesses are advised to consider alternative routes and adjust their travel plans accordingly to accommodate this temporary inconvenience.
The City of Flint’s Traffic Engineering Department emphasizes the importance of this infrastructure work for the community’s long-term benefits, urging all affected parties to remain patient during this period.
