Rosenmeyer Aims to Serve Rural Communities Through CRISP Program

Building a Future in Rural Health Care

Rosenmeyer is on a mission to establish a solid foundation through the CRISP program, aiming to make a significant impact in rural health care. Although she’s undecided between pediatrics and gynecology, her commitment to serving a rural community is unwavering.

Rosenmeyer highlights the importance of such initiatives for the vitality of small towns statewide. “If we want to keep these communities thriving and keep all these great values that we’ve established, we need to be able to provide for people in those communities, especially with health care,” she emphasizes.

Her deep understanding of rural community needs makes her a fitting example of why CRISP focuses on recruiting students with similar backgrounds. Rosenmeyer expresses a strong desire to be actively involved in health care and community life. “I definitely want to be someone who’s both involved in health care as a provider, but also within the community as well,” she states.

Incorporating wisdom from her father, she adds, “My dad uses this quote: ‘You can either be a manager or a leader.’ Managers just keep everybody where you’re at, but leaders are promoting everyone to do well and bring them to the next level. That’s a really important thing as a provider in a rural community — to step in and do the harder things.”

For Rosenmeyer, her journey is not just about earning a medical degree. “It’s about coming back home,” she says. “And taking care of the people who took care of me.”
