University of Iowa Welcomes New Facilities Management Leader
Farrukh Bashir has been appointed as the new associate vice president and director of Facilities Management at the University of Iowa, with his official start date set for February 2.
Transitioning from his role as assistant director of Facilities Management at the University of Minnesota, Bashir brings with him over two decades of experience. His background spans higher education and healthcare where he has honed skills in facilities operations, financial management, strategic planning, and workforce development. Additionally, he is known for his dedication to safety, sustainability, and employee engagement.
Prior to his tenure at the University of Minnesota, Bashir held senior leadership positions in both the healthcare sector and private industry. He also has experience in university housing and residence life. Bashir is academically accomplished, having earned a PhD from the University of Minnesota. He is also credentialed in facilities and project management.
Bashir will be taking over from Lynne Finn, who is retiring from her role as the current associate vice president for Facilities Management.
