Embarking on a new season, Drake University’s Keys to Excellence Piano Series is set to captivate audiences with an exciting lineup. The season’s opening act on Friday, September 4, at 7:30 p.m., will feature renowned duo pianists in Sheslow Auditorium.
Piano Duo Takes the Stage
Esteemed pianists Réne Lecuona and Alan Huckleberry will perform together, bringing their expertise from the Voxman School of Music at the University of Iowa. Their concert will offer a mix of well-known compositions and hidden treasures from the piano duet repertoire.
The evening will include symphonic movements by Beethoven, Schumann, and Dvořák, along with Brahms’s Hungarian Dances. A contemporary Colombian composition will also be featured, adding a modern twist to the classic setlist.
