Recent Campus and Nearby Area Incidents: A Summary

March 19

Pitt police are investigating a robbery reported on the 3900 block of Forbes Avenue. Officers also assisted City police following an attempted car break-in along Oakland Avenue.

March 20

In Holland Hall, a liquor law violation led to a student receiving a conduct referral. Additionally, graffiti was discovered on a handrail at the Cathedral of Learning, with an investigation currently in progress.

March 21

Multiple liquor law violations were reported by campus security authorities at Sutherland Hall and the Litchfield Towers lobby, resulting in conduct referrals for several students. On Semple Street, one student was cited for disorderly conduct, and three others faced citations for open container violations. A further liquor law violation on Semple Street saw another student referred for conduct issues. Meanwhile, at Litchfield Tower C, an individual not affiliated with the University was cited for defiant trespass.

In another case, a report was filed by a person whose Apple AirPods 4s went missing at Hillman Library. On Champions Drive and Forbes Avenue, Pitt police supported City police with a vehicle break-in and an assault, respectively.

March 22

On this day, Pitt police provided assistance to City police in dealing with criminal mischief on Semple Street and another attempted car break-in on Champions Drive.

March 23

Officers reported criminal mischief at Posvar Hall/Forbes Quad, and institutional vandalism at the Cathedral of Learning, both of which are under investigation. Additionally, they helped City police with a hit and run incident involving an unattended vehicle at Gardner Steel. A food theft at Litchfield Tower C was also documented, with investigations ongoing.

March 24

Pitt police assisted City police with both a criminal mischief report concerning a vehicle and a report of a sexual assault that took place off campus.

March 25

The crime log for this day shows no new incidents reported by Pitt police.
