Graduation ceremonies for Broward County high schools in 2026 are set to closely mirror those from the previous year. The district has confirmed the schedule and venues for these events, ensuring most students will graduate in familiar settings.
An updated schedule released on Wednesday outlines that ceremonies will take place from May 28 to June 3. The majority of schools will avoid using their gymnasiums, maintaining a tradition of off-campus ceremonies, except for Pompano Beach High, which will continue its practice of hosting graduations in its gymnasium.
Prominent venues such as the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Lauderhill Performing Arts Center, Nova Southeastern University’s Don Taft Center, and Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood are scheduled to host the ceremonies, consistent with the previous year’s arrangements.
Among the largest ceremonies, Cypress Bay High, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High, and Western High will hold their events at Hard Rock Live. Western High was previously listed at Nova Southeastern University’s smaller venue but has been moved back to Hard Rock Live, aligning with the updated plan to host all three schools’ ceremonies on June 1.
Initially, the district proposed gymnasium-based graduations for most of its 44 schools, including Pompano Beach High, Blanche Ely High, and Dillard High. This plan faced criticism from students and parents due to perceived inequities, as the largest 11 schools were still slated for more expensive external venues.
“Following feedback from School Board members and the community, the revised graduation schedule for the Class of 2026 has been updated,” states a message on the district’s website. “All schools will host their 2026 commencement ceremonies in the same venues as their 2025 ceremonies.”
One notable change involves Everglades High School, which will move from the Broward Center for the Performing Arts to the larger Don Taft Center at NSU.
