VectorTex USA to Launch Major Manufacturing Facility in Bladen County
In a significant economic development for Bladen County, VectorTex USA, LLC has announced plans to create 44 new jobs with the establishment of a new manufacturing facility in Elizabethtown, North Carolina. The company, with a projected investment exceeding $6 million, aims to enhance its North American presence through this new venture.
Governor Josh Stein expressed enthusiasm about the development, stating, “VectorTex’s decision to establish U.S. operations in Elizabethtown is great news for Bladen County and for North Carolina. These new jobs will help families thrive and strengthen our rural economy as we keep working to make North Carolina the best place to live, work, and do business.”
VectorTex USA, a subsidiary of the Australian firm Vector Technologies, specializes in developing components for medical devices and technology for oyster farming, serving industries such as life sciences, aquaculture, automotive, and food and beverage. The company’s new 25,000-square-foot facility is strategically located to improve proximity to key customers, with existing operations in Australia, Luxembourg, New Zealand, and Thailand.
Callum de Vries, Technical Business Development Manager at VectorTex USA, remarked, “We’re excited to establish our new manufacturing facility in Elizabethtown, North Carolina. This investment strengthens our ability to serve customers across the United States, shortening supply chains and strengthening our global engineering, quality and production capability. The support we have received from North Carolina and Bladen County has been exceptional, and we’re eager to create new opportunities as we bring our advanced engineering and manufacturing operations online.”
The announcement received a warm welcome from state leaders. N.C. Commerce Secretary Lee Lilley noted, “We’re proud to welcome VectorTex to North Carolina and Bladen County. Their investment reflects the growing confidence companies have in our state’s rural communities, infrastructure, and workforce.”
The new positions at VectorTex will offer an average salary of $48,136, aligning closely with the average wage in Bladen County of $46,867. This initiative is expected to inject an annual payroll impact exceeding $2 million into the local economy.
Supporting the expansion, VectorTex will benefit from a performance-based grant of $120,000 from the One North Carolina Fund. This fund assists local governments in attracting economic investments and job creation, with companies required to meet specific job and investment targets to qualify for payments. Local government matching participation is a prerequisite for any grant awards.
N.C. Senator Brent Jackson commented, “This is the kind of investment rural North Carolina needs. VectorTex’s decision to bring jobs to Elizabethtown will strengthen our local economy and provide meaningful opportunities for hardworking folks in Bladen County. I’m proud to support efforts that bring good jobs to our region.”
Adding to the chorus of support, N.C. Representative William D. Brisson said, “Bladen County is a great place to live, work, and do business. VectorTex clearly sees that. These new jobs will help our families, boost our economy, and show that rural North Carolina is ready to grow. I welcome VectorTex to Elizabethtown and look forward to their success.”
The development has been facilitated by a collaboration involving the North Carolina Department of Commerce, the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, the North Carolina General Assembly, the Golden LEAF Foundation, and various other regional partners including Bladen Community College and the Bladen County Economic Development Commission.
