Transformation of an Old Gas Station into Hooversville’s New Municipal Hub
An initiative is underway in Somerset County to repurpose a former gas station site into a new municipal office and police station for Hooversville. Supported by the Shapiro Administration, this project aims to revitalize the area and enhance local government facilities.
Hooversville Borough is set to receive a $22,890 grant from the Industrial Sites Reuse Program (ISRP). This funding will be allocated towards essential environmental tasks, including soil remediation, analysis, and the removal of abandoned underground storage tanks. Additionally, the grant will cover excavation and groundwater sampling activities. More details on the grant can be found here.
The transformation of this site is an example of community-focused projects aimed at improving public infrastructure. By turning a disused property into a functional municipal building, the initiative not only addresses environmental concerns but also enhances local government services for residents.
