Shapiro Administration Extends Deadline for School Infrastructure Funding Applications
In a significant move to bolster educational infrastructure, the Shapiro Administration has announced an extension for the application deadline for funding aimed at improving school facilities in Pennsylvania. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance the learning environment for students across the state.
The state’s 2026-27 budget, signed by Governor Josh Shapiro, allocates $125 million towards school infrastructure improvements. A major portion of this budget, $100 million, is specifically earmarked for the Public School Facility Grant Program. This program is designed to support schools in upgrading their facilities to better serve students and staff.
Since the beginning of Governor Shapiro’s term, nearly $175 million has been invested in school infrastructure through this program. This funding has benefited 208 schools, enabling them to undertake essential upgrades and improvements. The extension of the deadline is expected to allow more schools the opportunity to apply for these critical funds.
