Raleigh, N.C.
In a move to bolster connections with the private sector and enhance the state’s digital services, Governor Stein has appointed two key figures to his leadership team: Doug Warf and Torre Jessup. Their roles aim to foster business engagement and modernize state government operations.
Doug Warf Takes on Role for Business Engagement
Doug Warf will assume the position of Senior Advisor for Business Engagement, focusing on strengthening ties with businesses across North Carolina. His work will involve collaboration with the Department of Commerce and economic development entities to devise strategies that support both small enterprises and large corporations. Warf’s prior experience as President of the Carolina Hurricanes and Lenovo Center will be instrumental in his new role.
Governor Josh Stein expressed his confidence, stating, “I’m proud that North Carolina is the Top State for Business, but we can’t rest on our laurels. Doug will help the state strengthen our relationship with the businesses that call North Carolina home and prepare us to keep building a strong economic future for every person.”
Torre Jessup to Lead Digital Transformation
Appointed as Senior Advisor for Digital Experience, Torre Jessup will focus on enhancing the digital delivery of essential services for residents. By partnering with the North Carolina Department of Information Technology, Jessup will spearhead the creation of a new digital platform to streamline interactions between citizens and the state. His previous tenure as Chief Deputy State Chief Information Officer for the NCDIT provides a solid foundation for this initiative.
Governor Stein remarked on the importance of accessibility, emphasizing, “State government works only if it’s accessible and responsive to what people need. Our digital systems are in need of an upgrade, and I know Torre will get the job done. I look forward to his leadership in making it easier for people to make sure their state government works for them.”
