Investment Revitalizes Union County Manufacturing and Promises New Jobs
In a significant boost to Union County’s economy, Governor Josh Shapiro has announced a $10.9 million investment aimed at revitalizing a local manufacturing site. This initiative, led by John Brothers Holdings, is set to generate 78 new jobs, marking a substantial step forward for the region’s industry.
The investment will see the revival of a manufacturing operation that had previously been inactive. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is contributing $450,000 to this effort, supporting the growth of a new subsidiary, John Brothers Wood Products, which will specialize in producing various wood components.
Governor Shapiro’s administration emphasizes the importance of job creation and economic revitalization in Pennsylvania. “Under Governor Josh Shapiro’s leadership, Pennsylvania’s commitment to fostering economic growth remains steadfast,” noted the PA Department of Community & Economic Development.
The plan not only aims to boost employment but also to enhance the local economy by restoring manufacturing capabilities. This aligns with the broader goals of strengthening local industries and providing sustainable job opportunities within the community.
John Brothers Holdings, through its subsidiary, aims to leverage this investment to establish a robust manufacturing presence in Union County. The strategic move is expected to attract further investments and contribute to the long-term economic stability of the area.
