Arizona Innovation Challenge: 10 Startups Selected as 2023 Awardees
The Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA) has unveiled the winners of the 2023 Arizona Innovation Challenge (AIC). This initiative, which began in 2011, is designed to foster the growth of innovative and technological businesses in Arizona by aiding early-stage startups in their scaling efforts.
The chosen 10 companies will become part of the Arizona Innovation Challenge portfolio and participate in the ACA’s Venture Ready Accelerator. This program links participants with experienced entrepreneurs, high-ranking executives, and industry specialists through a series of workshops and panels over the next year. The Accelerator is instrumental in refining business plans, enhancing market strategies, and improving investor readiness.
The selection process for the 2023 awardees culminated in a live pitch session held on November 17, where a panel of investors evaluated presentations from 15 finalists. Initially, 100 applications were submitted in August, narrowed down to 30 semifinalists by October, before the final selection was made.
“We couldn’t be prouder of all of the startups participating in this year’s challenge,” expressed Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority. “The AIC spotlights the amazing talent and passion of Arizona’s brightest entrepreneurs, making for an incredibly competitive event each year. Congratulations to all of this year’s winners and participants and we look forward to continuing to support Arizona’s innovative startups.”
Since its inception, the AIC has recognized 130 startups out of over 2,700 applicants. Noteworthy past awardees include CampusLogic, Paradox, GT Medical Technologies, Trainual, botco.ai, and Ampcera.
