Arizona’s entrepreneurial landscape is getting a boost as ten startups have been chosen to receive recognition in this year’s Arizona Innovation Challenge (AIC). This initiative, organized by the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA), aims to propel technological advancements and innovative business ideas within the state.
The selected companies will join the prestigious AIC portfolio and participate in the ACA’s Venture Ready Accelerator. This program connects startups with experienced entrepreneurs, top-tier executives, and industry experts. Over the next year, participants will develop their business strategies and enhance their market execution through workshops and panels.
Once again, the 2022 AIC awardees represent some of the most promising startups anywhere in the country,
remarked Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority. We commend the hard work and dedication of all this year’s participants. The AIC has become one of the nation’s premier business pitch competitions and we look forward to continuing to support Arizona’s innovative startups.
Since its inception in 2011, the AIC has evaluated over 2,000 applications and has recognized 125 awardees. Notable past winners include companies like CampusLogic, Paradox, and Qwick. Detailed information about previous awardees can be found here.
The 2022 awardees represent a diverse range of industries, including IT, biotechnology, and renewable energy. The companies are primarily based in Arizona cities such as Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tucson, and Chandler, with one from Cincinnati, Ohio. This year’s celebrated startups include CenSyn, Inc., EduFi, and Padma Agrobotics, among others.
These companies were carefully selected by a panel of investors following an intensive in-person pitch session on November 17. All applicants, regardless of their selection status, will be offered a consultation with the ACA to explore additional resources for business development.
