Pet Adoption Initiative Launches Across Phoenix: Find Your New Friend

In an effort to connect pets with loving homes, Maricopa County Animal Care & Control (MCACC) has teamed up with PetSmart Charities® to host a series of adoption events at PetSmart locations throughout the Phoenix area. This initiative aligns with National Adoption Week, which runs from October 20 to 26, 2025, and promises opportunities for potential pet parents to meet their future furry companions.

PHOENIX, AZ (October 20, 2025) – The drive to bring joy and companionship into homes is at the heart of MCACC’s latest partnership. Throughout National Adoption Week, various PetSmart stores across the valley will welcome visitors to interact with adoptable pets. A special highlight is the Everyday Adoption Center (EAC) at the Old Town Scottsdale PetSmart, which will feature adoptable dogs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. On October 25, PetSmart Charities will sponsor adoption fees for dogs older than six months at both the EAC and the Mesa PetSmart.

During these events, MCACC encourages the public to explore the diverse array of pets available for adoption. Whether you’re looking for a playful puppy or a calm senior dog, there’s an opportunity to find the perfect pet match. The meet-and-greet setup allows potential adopters to spend quality time with animals, ensuring a perfect fit for both the pet and the family.

Staff and volunteers are on hand to facilitate these interactions, providing insights into the personalities and needs of each animal. Adopting a pet not only enriches the life of the adopter but also promotes health and well-being, as pets are known for their unconditional love and companionship. They encourage activity and responsibility, proving beneficial for families and individuals alike.
