Maricopa County’s Framework 2040 Draft Open for Public Feedback

Maricopa County Unveils Framework 2040 Public Review Draft

Public Review Draft Set for Release for Comment and Feedback

Maricopa County is set to release the Framework 2040 Comprehensive Plan Public Review Draft. This draft, aimed at shaping county-level decisions on growth and development through 2040, will be discussed at a public meeting on Thursday, January 29th, 2026. This meeting kicks off a 60-day review period during which residents and stakeholders can provide input and feedback.

The existing Comprehensive Plan, adopted in 2016, requires an update to adapt to new growth trends and legal requirements in Arizona. The updated plan ensures that Maricopa County’s development aligns with community values and evolving needs.

The Framework 2040 Plan aims to enhance the health, safety, and welfare of the county’s residents. It focuses on unifying growth strategies in unincorporated areas, promoting development that respects natural landscapes. The plan covers topics like land use, transportation, parks, water resources, energy, economic growth, environmental planning, and development costs, reflecting the priorities of the local community.

Residents, landowners, and stakeholders in unincorporated Maricopa County are encouraged to participate in a Virtual Event on Thursday, January 29th, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This event will provide insights into the plan’s key updates and inform attendees about the feedback process.
