Celebrating America 250: A Message from Our Supervisor on July 4, 2026

America’s 250th Birthday: A Celebration of Freedom and Sacrifice

July 4, 2026, is set to be a monumental day as the United States commemorates its 250th anniversary of independence. This pivotal moment in history is not just about marking time but also reflecting on the values that define the nation.

Benjamin Franklin eloquently captured the essence of the nation with his words, “Where liberty dwells, there is my country.” These words resonate deeply as citizens come together to honor the sacrifices made for freedom and to express gratitude to those who continue to serve.

The festivities surrounding this significant Independence Day are varied and vibrant, with numerous events taking place across communities. One notable event was the After Dark in the Park celebration at Deer Valley Park, which drew thousands of attendees last Saturday.

The early evening was filled with lively activities, including bounce houses and water attractions for children, alongside a variety of vendor booths. In a creative twist, drones replaced traditional fireworks for the second consecutive year, offering spectators a unique and breathtaking display.

Gratitude is extended to the Black Mountain Community Alliance and City of Phoenix partners for their role in crafting such a memorable event. As America reaches this 250-year milestone, communities across the nation reflect on the journey and the enduring spirit of liberty and unity.
