As the temperatures drop, Maricopa County residents have more than just cooler weather to look forward to. Starting September 18, the Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department will once again offer the anticipated Buy One, Get One (BOGO) camping promotion, giving local residents a chance to enjoy complimentary camping nights at select parks.
The promotion, which debuted in 2008, aims to promote local exploration of the region’s natural beauty before peak winter crowds arrive. This year, the initiative remains focused on Maricopa County’s residents, offering families and outdoor lovers a cost-effective way to appreciate the nearby Sonoran Desert.
“Our regional park system is one of the things that makes Maricopa County such an extraordinary place to live,” stated Kate Brophy McGee, Chair of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, District 3. “This promotion gives our residents an affordable opportunity to enjoy these beautiful public spaces, whether they’re returning to a favorite campground or discovering a County park for the first time. I encourage residents to take advantage of the fall weather and experience the natural beauty that is right here in our own backyard.”
With this offer, residents booking qualified developed or semi-developed campsites can enjoy free camping nights. A stay of two to seven nights grants one free night, while stays of eight to 14 nights earn two free nights.
“Fall is a wonderful time to rediscover our regional parks and camping gives visitors a chance to experience the desert in an entirely different way,” noted Jennifer Waller, Director of Maricopa County Parks and Recreation. “Whether you’re hiking a trail at sunrise, watching wildlife from your campsite, or simply spending time outdoors with family and friends, we hope this promotion encourages Maricopa County residents to create lasting memories in their regional parks.”
Parks Included in the Promotion
- Cave Creek Regional Park
North of Phoenix, this park offers a remote feel with 55 developed campsites, yet remains easily accessible from the city. - McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Situated in the lower Verde River basin, this northeast Valley park offers 76 developed campsites fit for both RV and tent camping. - Usery Mountain Regional Park
East of the Valley, near the Goldfield Mountains and Tonto National Forest, this park provides 74 developed campsites for RVs and tents. - White Tank Mountain Regional Park
As the largest park in Maricopa County, covering nearly 30,000 acres, it offers 40 developed campsites and a rugged mountain backdrop.
Details of the Promotion
To take advantage of the 2026 BOGO camping promotion:
- Stay 2–7 consecutive nights: Get one free night of equal or lesser value.
- Stay 8–14 consecutive nights: Receive two free nights of equal or lesser value.
- A minimum stay must be paid to qualify for each offer.
- The promotion is valid from September 18 through October 31, 2026.
- Reservations made before the promotion’s announcement aren’t eligible.
- Free nights must be utilized within the qualifying stay period, ending October 31, 2026.
- The offer applies to developed and semi-developed campsites only, excluding primitive camping, group reservations, and unit fees.
- Rain checks won’t be provided if space is unavailable.
Residency Requirement
- The 2026 BOGO promotion is exclusive to Maricopa County residents.
- Valid Arizona state ID with a Maricopa County address is required for the discount.
- Non-qualifying guests must cover the full reservation cost.

The promotion does not apply at Adobe Dam Regional Park, Estrella Mountain Regional Park, Hassayampa River Preserve, Lake Pleasant Regional Park, San Tan Mountain Regional Park, or Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area.
