Aiming for Another Shot at Love: MCACC Dog Adoption Event

A New Chance for Shelter Dogs at Maricopa County

Maricopa County Animal Care & Control (MCACC) is hosting an adoption event to help shelter dogs find their forever homes. The event, named “Aiming for Another Shot at Love,” runs from September 14 to September 20, and is generously sponsored by Ames McGarey. This initiative aims to match deserving dogs with loving families.

During the weeklong event, adoption fees for dogs will be reduced by 50% across MCACC’s East and West locations, as well as its Everyday Adoption Center. The fee reduction is intended to encourage the community to consider adopting a pet, thereby giving more dogs the opportunity to join a new family and start a new life.

Kim Powell, Communications Supervisor for MCACC, expressed enthusiasm about the event, stating, “We’re excited to end the busy summer season with an adoption special like Aiming for Another Shot at Love.” She added gratitude for Ames McGarey’s sponsorship, acknowledging that support from community members is crucial for facilitating positive outcomes for shelter animals.

This marks the second consecutive year of partnership between McGarey and MCACC. McGarey commented, “My hope is that we can have another successful event to put wonderful dogs into loving and caring homes. All dogs deserve a second chance after they’ve entered our shelter system, and there’s nothing more rewarding than knowing that this has been achieved.”

Both MCACC and McGarey are hopeful that the event will lead to successful adoptions, providing many dogs with the loving homes they deserve. To view available pets and learn more about the event, please visit Maricopa.gov/Pets.
