Commissioner Wayne Goodwin emphasized the department’s commitment to improving customer service, stating, “I remain focused on offering more opportunities for customers to receive services both online and during expanded hours.” He added, “Opening for Saturday hours at many of our busiest locations statewide is what customers want, need, and have requested. These extra hours for customers are a success and we look forward to the next steps after this summer peak season program concludes.”

Before visiting a DMV office, customers are encouraged to check if their tasks can be accomplished online. The NCDMV provides a variety of online services, such as renewing driver licenses and ID cards, ordering duplicates, changing addresses, and submitting voter registration applications.
