Summer Access to Health Services for Flagstaff Campus Students
Students attending summer classes at Flagstaff’s mountain campus have the benefit of continued access to Campus Health Services (CHS) throughout the season. This ensures they can take advantage of essential health and recreation services available at the Health and Learning Center, including counseling, medical care, and gym facilities.
For those not enrolled in summer sessions or who are taking online courses, access to Campus Health and Recreation is still available by paying the Health and Recreation Access Fee.
Graduating students should plan ahead to maintain their medical wellness post-graduation. Utilize CHS resources on campus for services like STI testing, physical exams, and preventative health visits before leaving. Additionally, ensure vaccinations are current and download health records from the CHS patient portal. Making arrangements for insurance, primary care, and counseling support is crucial to smoothly transition into life after graduation.
“Be sure to take advantage of services at CHS before heading to your next adventure,” said Mark Pico, director of CHS Medical Services. “For continuing or new students, Campus Health Services and Campus Recreation are both located in the Health and Learning Center and represent valuable and complementary ways to stay healthy this summer, as well as address any lingering concerns from springtime or anticipatory needs before the fall semester.”
When searching for an off-campus primary care provider, it’s advisable to seek recommendations from family, friends, or coworkers; explore nearby medical centers; or consult your insurance company’s provider directory. Meanwhile, Campus Health can assist in making the transition to off-campus health care as seamless as possible.
