Get Involved: Vote for North Carolina’s Top Multimodal Transportation Project
RALEIGH – Residents of North Carolina have a unique opportunity to influence the selection of the state’s top multimodal transportation project by participating in the 2024 N.C. Department of Transportation Mobi Awards.
The NCDOT Mobi Awards aim to highlight the state’s premier multimodal transportation initiatives, with awards across six categories. While an experienced panel of judges will determine winners in five categories, the sixth—Most Voted Project—relies on public participation.
In the Most Voted Project category, residents can cast their votes online for the project they believe deserves the title of North Carolina’s best.
According to Julie White, deputy secretary for Multimodal Transportation at the NCDOT, “Public voting in the Most Voted Project category allows community members to have a direct say in recognizing the transportation projects that have significantly improved their daily lives. These multimodal investments are vital for fostering sustainable growth and enhancing the quality of life across North Carolina. We are excited to see which projects the public will champion this year.”
This year’s competition features 20 diverse entries, including projects related to rail, aviation, and bicycle and pedestrian transportation. Voting is open until midnight on August 7.
The project securing the highest number of votes will be awarded the “Most Voted Project” accolade.
Participants can vote up to three times daily. To explore the projects and submit your vote, visit the MOBI Awards voting page at NCDOT MOBI Awards.
Winners across all six categories will be revealed during a luncheon at noon on October 11 at the Raleigh Convention Center, 500 South Salisbury St.
