Update: The maintenance operation initially planned has been rescheduled to July 31.
LANDIS – Maintenance work set to enhance a section of a local road in Rowan County is now slated to begin at the end of July, according to the N.C. Department of Transportation. Contractors are preparing to close a stretch of East Ryder Avenue for necessary construction, weather conditions permitting.
Starting Monday morning at 7:30 a.m., the portion of East Ryder Avenue between U.S. Highway 29 and Chapel Street will undergo milling and repaving. The work is scheduled to take place from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on both Monday and Tuesday.
During the closure, eastbound drivers on East Ryder Avenue will need to follow a detour via North Chapel Street to Coach Deal Road, then to U.S. Highway 29. Conversely, westbound traffic will be rerouted via Coach Deal Road to North Chapel Street and back to East Ryder Avenue.
Motorists are encouraged to allocate extra travel time and adhere to the posted detour signs to navigate around the temporary road closure effectively.
