NC Injury Data User Toolkit Launch: Virtual Media Availability Event

A New Toolkit Unveiled for Enhanced Understanding of Injury Data in North Carolina

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) is set to introduce an innovative resource aimed at improving data literacy and informing decisions related to injury and violence statistics. The Division of Public Health’s Injury and Violence Prevention Branch (IVPB) will host a virtual session to showcase the North Carolina Injury Data User Toolkit, a tool designed to make complex data more accessible and actionable.

This online event, scheduled for Wednesday, April 15 at 11 a.m., will provide a comprehensive walkthrough of the toolkit’s features. Attendees will learn how IVPB data can be leveraged to enhance understanding and facilitate data-driven decision-making.

The toolkit includes a range of data types such as overdose deaths, firearm deaths, and suicide deaths. Through resources like Injury Data Briefs and a detailed Data Resource Inventory, users can gain insights into the processes and applications of IVPB data.

During the session, IVPB staff will conduct a live demonstration of the Data Resource Inventory, guiding participants on where to locate essential data resources and how to utilize them effectively.
