FIFA World Cup 2026: Pennsylvania to Host Fan Zones for Soccer Enthusiasts
As excitement for the 2026 FIFA World Cup builds, Pennsylvania is stepping up to offer soccer fans an extraordinary experience. Governor Shapiro has announced the creation of three free FIFA Fan Zones across the state, allowing residents and visitors to enjoy the tournament in a lively atmosphere without traveling far from home.
Philadelphia, selected as one of the host cities for the World Cup, is expected to attract a significant influx of visitors. The city anticipates welcoming approximately 500,000 guests during the event, which is projected to generate over $700 million in economic impact and create 6,615 jobs across Pennsylvania. Governor Shapiro’s administration is actively preparing to accommodate this surge in tourism and ensure a positive experience for all attendees.
The Fan Zones will be strategically located to maximize accessibility and enjoyment for fans. These zones are designed to replicate the excitement of being at the stadium, offering large screens to broadcast live matches, food and beverage options, and various entertainment activities. The initiative aims to foster a sense of community among soccer enthusiasts and capitalize on the economic opportunities presented by the World Cup.
Governor Shapiro emphasized the importance of these Fan Zones in enhancing the World Cup experience for Pennsylvanians. “We are thrilled to offer these vibrant spaces for fans to come together and celebrate the world’s most popular sport,” he stated. “This initiative not only highlights our commitment to supporting sports tourism but also underscores the economic benefits that such events bring to our state.”
