Fiber Optic Infrastructure Expansion Approved in Nevada
In a significant move to enhance broadband capabilities in rural Nevada, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has approved amendments to an existing fiber optic line operated by VERO Fiber Network LLC. This decision aims to bolster internet services across several key areas.
The approved changes will see the introduction of new power and fiber laterals to the Bonnie Claire and Amargosa in-line amplifier (ILA). Additionally, a fiber lateral will be constructed to the Gabbs ILA on private land, and two new ILAs will be established in Hawthorne and Tonopah. These developments span the Stillwater, Tonopah, and Pahrump field office regions. The ILAs are crucial for boosting signal strength, thereby ensuring reliable broadband over long distances and enhancing network performance and capacity for rural communities.
