CARSON CITY, Nev – In an effort to expand solar energy capabilities, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is inviting public feedback on a proposed Resource Management Plan Amendment (RMPA) for the Dodge Flat 2 Solar Project.
Situated two miles northwest of Wadsworth, Nevada, the solar project plan involves potential solar development on 25 acres currently excluded from such development under the Carson City District Office Consolidated Resource Management Plan (CRMP) of 2001. These changes follow amendments by the Approved Resource Management Plan Amendments/Record of Decision for Solar Energy Development in Six Southwestern States.
Additionally, the proposed amendment would lead to the removal of approximately 608 acres from the West-Wide Energy Corridor (WWEC) Reno Connector Corridor 15-17. This is part of the CRMP’s 2001 guidelines, updated by the 2009 West-Wide Corridor Plan for Designation of Energy Corridors on BLM-Administered Lands in 11 Western States. Conversely, the plan designates around 92 new acres of WWEC.
The public has a 30-day window, from March 3 to April 2, 2026, to submit protests or comments regarding the proposed amendment.
