Claire Curzan Shines with Stellar Performances in Swimming Championships
In an impressive display of talent and determination, junior Claire Curzan emerged as the Most Valuable Swimmer at the latest championships. Her outstanding achievements included clinching victories in two individual backstroke events—the 100-meter and 200-meter—and contributing to three relay triumphs in the 200 freestyle, 400 freestyle, and 400 medley categories. Additionally, Curzan secured a second-place finish in the 100 butterfly event.
UVA coach Todd DeSorbo expressed his enthusiasm for the team’s growth and success this season. “This year has really been about a lot of people stepping up into new roles and really blossoming,” he remarked. “It started really early on in the year. We have seen it just continue to build and build. It’s been really impressive and really exciting to have a whole new group of people, and a fantastic team.”
The NCAA championship meet is set to commence on March 18 at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center in Atlanta, marking a significant event for college swimming enthusiasts.
