BLM Approves Centennial Trails Project in Carson City, Nevada

In a move set to enhance recreational opportunities around Carson City, the Bureau of Land Management has approved a new trail project. This development promises to expand outdoor activities by introducing a comprehensive trail network.

Trail Network Initiative

Muscle Powered, in collaboration with Carson City Parks and Open Space, is spearheading an initiative to design, construct, and manage a series of trails on public lands located north of the John D. Winters Centennial Park Complex at Carson City’s east end. The project encompasses approximately 17 miles of fresh single-track trails and an additional 6.6 miles of existing double-track paths, aiming to create loop connections. The action plan also includes the installation of trail signs, ongoing maintenance, and necessary repairs. This initiative will introduce six new trail segments, all of which will be subject to monitoring and future maintenance.

These trails are also intended for use in Special Recreation Permits, broadening the spectrum of recreational activities available to the public.
