View or Download Your 2025 1099-G Tax Form on MyNCUIBenefits Now

Residents of North Carolina who received unemployment support in 2025 now have the convenience of accessing their 1099-G tax forms online. These forms can be viewed or downloaded via the MyNCUIBenefits account on the N.C. Division of Employment Security (DES) website. For those who prefer paper documentation, requested copies will be mailed starting tomorrow, with all deliveries expected by early February.

The DES has generated about 107,250 IRS Form 1099-Gs for individuals who collected unemployment benefits in 2025. The form details the total benefits received along with any taxes withheld, which is crucial for filing both state and federal tax returns since these benefits are considered taxable income.

To retrieve the 1099-G electronically, follow these steps:

If any discrepancies are found in the information provided on the 1099-G, individuals should reach out to the UI Support Center at 888-737-0259.

Security and Fraud Concerns

Reminder: Filing taxes online is a secure process. For more details on secure online filing options, visit NCDOR.gov.

Important: Receiving a 1099-G without having applied for unemployment benefits might indicate identity theft. Suspected cases of unemployment benefits fraud should be reported via the online fraud reporting form or by contacting DES at 919-701-3543. Confirmation and investigation by DES are necessary to amend the 1099-G.
