Flint City Hall Holiday Closures and Waste Collection Delays

FLINT, Mich. – As the holiday season approaches, Flint City Hall has announced its closure schedule to the public. City Hall will not be open on Wednesday, December 24, and Thursday, December 25, for Christmas, as well as on Wednesday, December 31, and Thursday, January 1, for New Year’s celebrations. The Flint Customer Service Center on Clio Road will mirror these closures but remain open during regular business hours on other days.

Despite these closures, residents are still able to utilize the red drop box located in front of City Hall for dropping off water payments, property taxes, and other correspondence. Essential services such as police, fire, the water service center, and the wastewater plant will continue their operations around the clock. Normal business hours for Flint City Hall, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., will resume on Monday, January 5, 2026.

Delay in Waste Collection for Holidays

Residents should note that waste collection services will experience a one-day delay on both December 25 and January 1. A map detailing the adjusted waste collection schedule is available for all service areas. Regular waste collection services will recommence during the week of January 5.

Priority Waste will be collecting Christmas trees—provided they are free from ornaments and lights—during the three weeks following Christmas Day. Residents are advised to place their waste at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on collection days, as collections occur between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

For any inquiries or issues regarding waste collection, residents can contact (810) 410-1134. Further information about Flint’s waste collection services can be found here.
